How to Plan a Trip With Claude, and Keep It

Ask Claude for five days in Tokyo and you get five good days. Food and temples balanced, a sensible order, a note about the last train. It is a better first draft than most guidebooks.

Then you close the chat and the draft is a wall of text. No pins, no hours, no idea whether the two places you liked most are next door or an hour apart. The plan exists, but not anywhere you can carry.

The fix is not a better prompt. It is giving the chat somewhere to put the trip.

Connect it once

Dreamfare is a connector for Claude. Any Claude plan can add it, including the free one, which allows a single custom connector. It takes about a minute.

1. Open Claude settings, then Connectors.
2. Choose Add custom connector.
3. Name it Dreamfare and paste https://api.dreamfare.app/mcp as the URL.
4. Press Connect and sign in to your Dreamfare account. No account yet? Signing up takes a minute.
5. In a chat, open the plus button at the bottom left, choose Connectors, and switch Dreamfare on.

Dreamfare is also listed in the official MCP Registry as app.dreamfare/mcp, so it shows up wherever Claude lists public connectors.

From then on the conversation can read and write your trips, the same ones you see in the app and share with your crew.

What changes

The same Tokyo prompt, with the connector on, ends differently. "Plan 5 days in Tokyo for late April, food and temples, and save it to Dreamfare." Claude makes the plan and Dreamfare builds it: a trip with five days, each stop a real place with its pin, photo, hours and a booking link where there is one. The card in the chat is the trip. Tap a day and the map moves.

The next morning, it is on your phone.

Some things to try, straight from the connector's own docs:

• "Import this TikTok and tell me which places are worth a day trip." Paste the link. Dreamfare watches the video, pins the places it mentions, and Claude reads them back with the tips.
• "Find a hotel in Kyoto for May 10 to 12 under 200 dollars a night and add the best one to my trip." Real stays with current prices, and an Add button that puts the pick on the right day.
• "What is still unbooked on my Lisbon trip? Give me the booking links."
• "Add sunscreen, a power strip and a rain jacket to my packing list, and tick off the passport."
• "Make an invite link so a friend can edit the trip, then post in the trip chat that dinner is booked."
• "Show me trips other travelers published for Portugal, and copy the Algarve one into my plans."
• "Paste this list of places into Dreamfare." Your notes, a friend's recommendations, a saved article. The places come out pinned.

Everything Claude does through the connector is something you could do in the app. It is the same account, the same trips, the same credits. Importing a video or asking for a full plan costs Stardust in the chat exactly as it does on your phone, and everything else is free.

Where the chat stops

Fairness section, as always.

Claude cannot book anything. Neither can Dreamfare, on purpose. The trip carries a tracked booking link for each stop, you book on the partner's own site, and if you do it through the link you earn a share of the commission back. The chat gets you to the checkout, not through it.

Claude does not search flights through the connector. Stays and activities, yes. Flights are recorded when you have booked one, so the trip knows your arrival and the delay watch can do its job.

Claude forgets, the trip does not. A new chat starts from nothing, which is fine, because the trip is in Dreamfare with everything the last chat put there. Ask "what is on my Lisbon trip" and it reads it back.

And the honest one: a plan is only as good as what you told it. "Five days in Tokyo" gets a generic five days. "Five days in Tokyo, we are vegetarian, one of us cannot do stairs, we are staying in Shinjuku" gets a plan you would actually follow. The connector makes the plan real. It does not make it yours.

ChatGPT or Claude

The connector is the same in both. If you already plan in ChatGPT, the ChatGPT guide covers the setup there, and a trip made in one shows up in the other, because they are both looking at your Dreamfare account. Pick whichever chat you already have open.

The five minute version

1. Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste the Dreamfare URL, sign in.
2. Switch Dreamfare on in the chat from the plus button.
3. Ask for the trip and say "save it to Dreamfare."
4. Open the app. The trip is there, on a map, ready for your crew.
5. Keep the chat for changes, and the app for the day itself.

The short version

Claude plans well and keeps nothing. Connect Dreamfare once and the plan becomes a trip with pins, hours, booking links and a crew, on your phone by morning. The chat is the pen. The trip is the paper.
