The problem

The group chat is where trips go to be forgotten

Someone posts a Reel. Someone else posts a hotel. Two people react. Four days later nobody can find either message, one person has quietly booked flights for the wrong weekend, and the only real plan lives in a spreadsheet that one person maintains and nobody else opens.

How it works

Four steps, and the spreadsheet dies

  1. 1

    Start the trip

Give it a city and some dates. It can be almost empty. The point is that there is one place for the plan to live before anyone starts sending links.

  2. 2

    Invite everyone coming

Send a link or invite by email, and choose whether each person can edit or only look. Nobody needs the app to open what you sent them.

  3. 3

    Let them add and argue

Editors add stops and move days. Everyone, editors and viewers alike, can vote on the stops. The chat lives on the trip, so a decision keeps its context.

  4. 4

    Track what is actually booked

Mark a stay or a tour as booked and the whole group can see it. The nagging question of who has actually paid for what stops being a question.

A real example

A Lisbon weekend, four people, one weekend to agree on it

Sam books the apartment. Priya adds a flea market from a Reel she saved. The ferry is unanimous. The fado night is not, and it stays open until somebody wins. Everything below is on one trip that all four can see.

Friday

Everyone lands by seven

  • 16:00Apartment in Principe RealBooked by Sam. Two nights, four bedsBook
  • 21:00Taberna da Rua das Flores3 up, 1 down. Needs a booking

Saturday

The one with the argument in it

  • 10:00Feira da LadraAdded by Priya from a Reel she saved
  • 14:30Ferry to Cacilhas4 up. Cheapest thing on the list
  • 20:00Fado in Alfama2 up, 2 down. Still openBook
Vote counts sit on the stop. Booked things say who booked them.

On the trip, not in the chat

  • SaSam booked the apartment. Two nights, four beds.
  • PrPriya added Feira da Ladra from a saved Reel.
  • MaMarco voted down the fado night. Too late after the ferry.
  • AiAisha joined as an editor from the invite link.

What you get

Six things a shared document does not do

  • An invite link, not an account demand

Share a link or invite by email. Whoever opens it sees the trip, and the person who created the invite decides whether it grants editing or looking.

  • Two people editing the same day

Editors add stops, retime them and move them between days on the same trip. Changes show up for everyone rather than in a screenshot of a plan someone else has.

  • Votes instead of group-chat archaeology

Any stop can be voted up or down, and viewers can vote too, because voting is usually the whole reason someone was invited. The tallies sit on the stop.

  • A chat attached to the trip

The conversation happens on the itinerary it is about, so the reason you dropped Tuesday's museum is still there in March when someone asks.

  • One packing list the group shares

A shared list for the things only one person needs to bring, next to everyone's own private list for the things they would rather not discuss.

  • What the trip adds up to

Priced stops roll up into a trip total, broken down by day and by kind, converted into the trip's currency when someone adds something in another one.

Who can do what

Three roles, and no surprises

Access is decided per invite, and the owner can change it afterwards. Being limited to viewing does not mean being ignored: viewers chat and vote like everyone else.

RoleCan do
OwnerEverything, including inviting people, changing roles, removing members and deleting the trip.
EditorAdd, edit, retime and delete stops, use the chat, vote, and mark things booked.
ViewerSee the whole trip, chat and vote on stops. Cannot change the plan or invite anyone.

What Dreamfare does not do here

It does not split costs or settle debts between people, and it does not book anything on the group's behalf. Booking happens on the partner's own site, through the link on the stop, and Dreamfare records that it happened so the plan stays honest.

Everyone brings their own finds

One person plans from TikTok, another from a newspaper guide, a third has been to the city twice. All three sources can end up as stops on the same day.

Questions people ask

Does everyone need to install the app?
No. An invite link opens the trip on the web, and the apps are there for the people who want notifications and a map in their pocket. It is the same account and the same trip either way.
Can I stop someone from wrecking the plan?
Yes. Every invite grants either editing or viewing, and the owner can change someone's role or remove them later. Viewers can still chat and vote, so limiting edit access does not make someone a spectator.
Can Dreamfare split costs between us?
No. There is no expense splitting or settling up. What exists is a trip budget: priced stops add up to a total, broken down by day and by kind, so the group can see what the weekend costs before anyone pays for it.
How do we know what has been booked?
Any stop can be marked booked, and it shows that way for everyone on the trip. Bookings made through the partner links on stops are recorded, and a confirmation email or receipt can be filed onto the right stop.
What happens to the trip after we get back?
It stays. You can publish it as a public page so other people can copy it, keep it private as a record of where you actually went, or leave it alone.
Someone found a place on TikTok. Can they add it?
Yes. Anyone with editing access can import a video or an article into their own saved places and add those stops to the shared trip, so a link in the group chat becomes a stop on the right day instead of a message nobody scrolls back to.

Start it, send one link, and let everyone put their own places on it.
